Excerpts from “How to have a meaningful quiet time” by Rick Warren

This page is a basic rundown of how the appendix is organized so you have an idea of what you would get if you dove into it.  I encourage you to read the whole appendix (find the link at the bottom of this post).

Why is daily fellowship with God so important?
    1. We were created to have fellowship with God.
    2. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that fellowship could be restored.
    3. The regular quiet time during Jesus’ ministry was a source of his strength.
    4. Every great man or woman of God throughout history has spent much time alone with God.
    5. We cannot be healthy, growing Christians without daily fellowship with the Lord.

The quiet time is not just a nice suggestion; it is a vital necessity for a child of
God. It is absolutely essential for Christian growth and maturity.

What happens when we have a quiet time?
    1. We give devotion to God
    2. We get direction from God
    3. We gain delight in God
    4. We grow more like God
