John 14 & Update

I am changing my personal journaling style for a time and I will be posting less frequently because the commenting takes a great deal of time and I am unable to do other reading.  In order to preserve my own intake I am decreasing my output.  I may post once a week or so based on what jumps out at me.

I will still post the Daily Catechism.

Daily Catechism

QUESTION 56: WHAT IS REQUIRED IN THE SECOND COMMANDMENT?
Answer: The second commandment requires the receiving, observ- ing, and keeping pure and entire, all such religious worship and ordinances, as God has appointed in his word.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 12:32; 32:46; Matthew 28:20.

John 14

The following verses jump out of this chapter...

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, ESV)

20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”” (John 14:20–21, ESV)

23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23, ESV)

This chapter is powerful and heartwarming to hear him communicate with his disciples before his death.  Let us see Christ manifested in our lives!  Let us have and keep his Word.  Let us abide in Christ.  Let us chase after him like he is our greatest treasure.  May the God of heaven and earth reside in us!

Soli Deo Gloria!
